Erwin Leo Himmel, one of the most talented designer of his generation, created the new Maguari HS1 GTS.
He led the transformation of Audi becoming a premium and sporty automobile manufacturer and set the pace for Lamborghini, Bentley and Bugatti.

One of his most notable creations is the 1991 Audi Quattro Spyder Concept. This design was adopted in following production cars.

With the new Maguari HS1 GTS, Erwin Leo Himmel brought the Gran Turismo Coupé Concept, from the Geneva motorshow in 2010, to the next level. Design is key and the new car combines traditional handcrafting skills with innovative high-tech.
– just as the swiss engineer and Hispano Suiza mastermind Marc Birkigt did back in the early days of the brand.

Erwin Leo Himmel redesigned the Hispano Suiza sports car following the ideology of the historical brand – Luxury, Comfort, Endurance and Speed.

Exterior, interior and technical key features from the classic Hispano Suiza cars have been translated into a modern car. The new engine of the 2021 Maguari HS1 GTS is closely linked to the famous historic engines that mastermind Marc Birkigt created. Today, exactly 100 years after the swiss engineer developed the aviation engine 12Y51, it came to life again.

The Maguari HS1 GTS is a superb combination of uncompromising design, supreme driving performance and at most exclusivity paired with the highest technical perfection.

The Brand - Hispano Suiza

Hispano Suiza has been one of the most legendary automobile brands since the early 20th century, and together with Rolls Royce, Bugatti, Bentley and Maybach it has been among the top manufacturers of exclusive high-performance automobiles.

The histories of Hispano Suiza and Bugatti are almost identical:
Both manufacturers ceased their automobile production at the beginning of World War II.

At the end of the 80s, the Bugatti brand was revived, and in 1998, Bugatti positioned itself as one of the most successful luxury automobile brands.
Today, Hispano Suiza has also transformed into a new decade of luxury.

THE MYTH

„La Hispano Suiza, Fábrica de Automóviles S.A.“ was first founded in Barcelona in 1904 by the brilliant Swiss engineer Marc Birgkit. In January 1911, Marc Birkigt moved to Paris with a new factory, where he was responsible for some of the most innovative and exclusive automobiles of the time. His genius also extended to areas ranging from fighter aircraft engines to high-performance boats.

Pablo Picasso, Albert Einstein and Greta Garbo as well as many royals throughout the world showed appreciation for Marc Birgkit’s roadgoing creations. As did the crème de la crème of society with numerous aristocrats, industrialists, politicians and celebrities from show business and sport, who enjoyed the thrill of owning and driving the most luxurious and technically advanced cars of their time.

The last Hispano Suiza car left the factory in Paris in 1938, which closed soon thereafter.

The company disappeared, but the myth survived:
Technical perfection clothed in sheer elegance in an aura of exclusivity.
A century ago, global thinking transferred many innovations of aeronautical origin into Hispano Suiza cars and helped the marque to become famous. And to perpetuate its reputation until this very day.
